American delegates Mr. Stephen J. Stembelt and Dr. JANET BUSTRIN from Columbia School, New York visited St. Edmund’s, Jawahar Nagar to get acquainted with the teaching skills being practiced at school. They were really impressed with the innovative methods and aids used by the teachers to explain certain topics of English, Maths, and Science. Dr. Bustrin even taught in the Std. X where Julius Ceaser was being taught as she herself is an English teacher, so she could not resist herself when ‘William Shakespeare’ was discussed. They were welcomed by the students, staff, and management in a typical Indian way. They accompanied the students in their classes and interviewed them on various topics to analyze the standards of students at various levels. They appreciated the educational level of the children and compared it with the students of the U.S.A. In the end, they thanked Director Dr. Sudhir K. Singh. They concluded their visit in a single sentence. ‘India is simply superb.’

To bid Adieu to the outgoing students of Class XII, farewell was organized in St. Edmund’s School, Jawahar Nagar, Jaipur. Students of Class XI organized a grand and gala show. The function commenced with the litting of inaugural lamp by Principal Mrs. Meena Singh and Dr. Pooja Singh , which was followed by Ganesh Vandana and farewell song by the students of XI Std. Outgoing students also conveyed their feelings through songs and speeches. Students also showed their gesture by presenting momentoes to their reverend teachers, who had been their mentors throughout their time at school. Ramp walk was the most fascinating presentation of the day. Mr. and Miss. Edmunds were awarded with trophies along with the meritorious students of various spheres like Academics, sports, co-curricular activities etc. Entire embience was filled with the sentiments of separation, thrill and enjoyment.The whole campus gave a glimpse of Rainbow depicting the various costumes of students as different colors. 

III Ranbir Singh Memorial Inter-School Taekwondo Tournament was organized at St.Edmund’s School, Jawahar Nagar. Around forty schools across the town participated in the event. Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma, Minister Science, and Technology, Govt. of Rajasthan was the Chief Guest for the occasion and Mr. Sunil Bhagsara, N.S.U.I President, University of Rajasthan pressed over the function. The Chief Guest lit the inaugural baton and declared the opening of the tournament. After that tournament commenced. It was a three-day event in which various teams stayed on the campus from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All the teams were escorted by the coaches and instructors. About 500 students from 30 different CBSE schools participated in the competition held from 19th Dec to 22nd Dec’2011. The entire event was full of joy and enthusiasm as all the participants played very well with high as well as a healthy sporting spirit. The Felicitation Ceremony of the Competition was also organized with great zeal and enthusiasm. Chief Guest Mr. Rajan Mahan (Director, NDTV, Rajasthan) awarded the winners and motivated the participants, emphasizing the importance of sports in one’s life. St. Edmund’s school won the trophy in Martial Arts. Indo- Bharat School stood second whereas Maheshwari Public school won the third position. Parasrampuria International School won the First position in Skating Competition. St. Edmund’s School won the Second position and the Third position was awarded to S.V. Public School. To conclude the occasion, Director Dr. SK Singh proposed the Vote of thanks to the Honorable guests as well as to the coaches and instructors of the various teams who came to witness and participate in the events. He also congratulated the winners and inspired the participants by his wise words and wished them good luck for the future.

St. Edmund’s School, Jawahar Nagar, organized its grand ‘Annual Day function- ‘The Palette’ at Birla Auditorium. The theme depicted that ‘Colours’ are an inseparable part of our lives. The students like an artist portray different scenes showing different colors with their importance. Colors give fragrance, motivation, and excitement to our lives and it was truly being seen in the enthusiastic performance of the children. Mrs. Jyoti Khandelwal, Mayor, Jaipur City was the chief guest for the occasion. The children dressed up in traditional costumes welcomed the guests. The function commenced with Garlanding of Lord Ganesha and offering Saraswati Vandana to Goddess.It was followed by the Play ‘AKBAR THE GREAT IN 21st CENTURY’. The court was set accordingly and the other part depicted the importance of colors in our lives. The function commenced with white color as well as concluded with white color. Other colors like red, blue, green, and yellow symbolizing bravery, courage, prosperity, and determination respectively. The main attraction was the thrilling performance of tiny toddlers of the Pre-Primary and Primary section. We felt like reaching to the moon with the song ‘Aao tumhe chaand pe le jyaye’ and ever sizzling song ‘Senorita’ made the audience dance to the rhythm of the tunes.

Bangladesh Martial Art Confederation organized III International Asia WUKF Karate Championship in Shahid Shohrawardy Indoor Stadium at Mirpur,Dhaka on 25th January-30th January. About 18 countries ie Brazil, Sri Lanka, Romania, Nepal, Pakistan including India participated in the Championship categorised under the basis of age,weight and Belt category. Alzeenia Faim Qureshi,Aman Faim Qureshi and Sapan Tilokani of St. Edmund’s School, Jawahar Nagar, Jaipur participated and proudly won Silver and Bronze medal for our country. School’s coach Shriram Choudhary also won Gold medal in the honor of representing the Best Coach. Principal Mrs. Meena Singh congratulated the children for making our institution proud by winning at International level and motivated them tofurther take part in such games to make our country proud.
