A special session on Basic Life Support – COLS (Compression Only Life Support) was conducted for students of Grades VIII to XII by Dr. Nikhil Ajmera from SDMH (Santokba Durlabhji Memorial Hospital).
The session aimed to create awareness about emergency response and teach students how to act confidently during critical situations. Dr. Ajmera explained the importance of immediate action during cardiac emergencies and how timely support can help save lives.
The program included:
• An informative presentation explaining the concept of Basic Life Support
• Step-by-step guidance on Compression Only Life Support (COLS)
• Hands-on training, where students practiced the technique under expert supervision
Students participated with great enthusiasm and curiosity, making the session highly interactive and impactful. The practical exposure helped them understand that even young individuals can play a crucial role in emergency situations.
Such initiatives reflect St. Edmund’s belief that education should prepare students not just for exams, but for real-life responsibilities. By learning life-saving techniques, students are becoming more aware, confident, and responsible citizens.
