On 31st October 2019, The inter-school French competition was organized in St. Edmunds School, Jawahar Nagar on the occasion of Halloween.
The event comprised of two parts; The Halloween Costume fest for the students of 6th to 8th grade, where they tried on the images of different mythical characters like vampires, zombies and Witches. They had to present their speech in French, thus showcasing not only their fashion sense but the linguistic powers as well.
The second competition for the day was the Comic Strip. The students of 9th to 12th classes had to prepare a funny comic on topics like artificial intelligence, social networks, cinema, sports or Halloween. The full narration had to be in French, and the students did their best to show off their humour.
More than 13 schools participated in this competition in which students of St Dominique the partner school of St Edmund’s School gave a mind-blowing performance, the event was a huge success. The jury members for the event were Dr Nidhi Raisinghani, the assistant professor of ELLCS; Madame Carolyn, the international coordinator of St. Dominique and Dr Dolly Setia, the head of French Department of St. Edmunds.
In The Halloween Costume fest JPGS stood first Cambridge grabbed the second position and MGD bagged third while in Comic Strip Banyan School stood first Subodh Public School grabbed second and St Edmund’s Jawahar Nagar grabbed the third position.
The event was enormously enjoyable where everyone got the opportunity to show their talents as well as the opportunity to make new friendly relations through the healthy competitions.
