A group of two representatives from Wellington School, Scotland visited St. Edmund’s School, Jawahar Nagar under an Exchange Programme by British Council. Representing their school, Principal Mr. R. M. Parlor and Ms. Susan Coontz reached on 6th September. They feel highly delighted by the warm traditional welcome by the students and teachers of St. Edmund’s. Principal Mr. Parlour addresses the students during morning assembly making them aware of their educational objectives to visit the institution.

They showed keen interest in the teaching methodology and the different teaching aids used by the teachers to make the child understand the concepts clearer and easier. The group enjoyed, as well as participated in the evaluation of the various activities such as Rakhi-making and Rangoli-making competitions organized by the senior students of the school.

They were surprised to see the combination of different colors of flowers used by the students to make beautiful ‘rangolis’. Students also give messages and titles with the decoration of flower arrangement which really makes the guests feel so honored. They were overwhelmed with joy watching the ‘Janamashtmi’ celebration organized by the little kids of the Pre-primary section of the school. Students of Primary classes organized a Cultural programme and a ‘Haat Bazaar’ depicted in a proper traditional way based on Rajasthani culture on the concluding day of their visit. Students also presented a beautiful folk dance showing a mixture of happiness of enjoyment shared with the guests as well as the sorrow of departing with them.

On the concluding day, Principal Mr. Parlour shared their views and analysis of the Indian education system with the teachers and students and also the happiness of accomplishment of their successful Exchange programme. Administrator Dr. (Mrs.) Pooja Singh showed hearty thanks to the guests as well as to the staff members for their active co-operation and wishes them good luck in the future.
