The much awaited Annual Sports meet of St Edmund’s School ,Jawahar Nagar brimmed the ground of Rajasthan UniversityJaipur with enthusiasm,excitement and cheers on 31st Jan2019, during which prelims of different races were conducted and shortlisted for the final round to be conducted on Annual sports meet.Mr Rafeeq Khan (MLA of Adarsh Nagar)& Sumit Bagasara(Vice president of National shooting player) joined on 25th Jan2019 to inaugurate the day with epitomy of energy.
The event commenced with the School director Mr Sudhir Singh &Principal Mrs Anu Bhatia welcoming the esteemed gathering on 31st Jan with the chief guest Mr Gautam Bhansali(Rt.IG Crime branch) & Guest of honor Mr Ishmandhu Talwar(writer & renouned journalist) &Mr Sharad Gaur(Chief editor of replay news Jaipur).Mr Bhansali took the salute of the impressive march past of the students,coupled with some stirring marching music by the band.The students entered into the spirit of occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by the sports captain.The four houses Shaurya, Parakram , Veer and Shakti presented their drills and won the hearts of the audience .
It was delighted to see the excitement with which children challenged themselves to attempt variety of races and games such as Seven stones,Kabaddi,Kho kho,100Mt race,relay race,long jump,Basketball,volleyball,Throw ball etc..Many new records were made in 100Mt race & games.As the building atheletes of St Edmund’s School ran for the finishing line ,the Rajasthan University reverberated with enthusiatic cheers from the spectators.All the atheletes played with the true sportsman spirit.
Announcement of the winnersof Shri Ranbir Singh tournament was done in which St Edmund’s School grabbed the first posiotion & second position was bagged by Subodh public school & third position to Bhartiya Vidhya Bhawan (Pratap nagar).
In the pre primary wing Hammed, Hamza&Siddhart won gold, silver and bronze medal in jelly fish race. In cat & mouse race Asad,Abrar & Diya Sukhlani were the winners. And in flower race of Sr Kg Lavina,Sristhi,Krippi, Hammad, Avesh aur Sarvesh Meena won the gold, silver and bronze medals.
In get ready for the school game Shah & Akshara won gold medal. Shiven & Kashish of Parakram & Veer House won the gold medal.In 100Mt Hurdle race Devesh & Anjali from Veer & Parakram house bagged the gold medal.In Dodge ball ,throw ball & Kabaddi Shakti house won the gold medal. In Kho Kho Veer House won the gold medal .In long jump Kartik Soni ,Ishaan & Kuldeep won the gold medal. In volley ball veer house won the gold medal & in basket ball match Parakram house won the gold medal.But at last Veer house chimed the bells of victory.
The school young achievers were awarded & were applauded for their talent & their unmatched potential in the sports field. School Joint director Dr Pooja Singh emphasised on the importance of sports in a child's life. The sports meet concluded with a vote of thanks and singing of National Anthem.

On 16th January 2019, Deepak Maharaj, the son of esteemed Birju Maharaj, in alliance with Spic Macay performed in St. Edmund’s School, Jawahar Nagar. Deepak Maharaj, after receiving his training at a very young age from his father went on to perform around the world in countries like U.K., U.S.A, Canada, Italy, Dubai, Germany, France, Australia, Russia etc, where his performance received critical acclaim.
Deepak Maharaj, the winner of various national and international awards was invited to perform in St Edmund’s to widen the horizons of young minds and cultivate an interest in the direction of various national art forms which the world is yet to see.

The presentation started with Ganesh Vandana followed by a series of performance like the beating of one’s heart, the chirping of birds, the noises of children at play and ‘Kanha Dekho’ a thumri in teen taal truly exposed growing students to different forms of exclusive art. With a deft hand and foot movements, he captured the essence of Lord Krishna .It developed a sense of pride for the country’s innate art forms developed wholly in the country. The students experienced an international level performance full of intricate music and artistic style and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a splendid show that kept the audience spellbound throughout the performance. The programme was well anchored by the head of Hindi department Ms Sharda Sharma.

School principal, Mrs Anu Bhatia presented memento to Pandit Deepak Maharaj Kathak maestro and his accompanist Pranshu Chaturlal (Tabla) and Janaab Ghulam Varis(Vocal & Harmonium) and Janaab Muhammad Ayyub(Sarangi).

St. Edmund’s School, Jawahar Nagar is proud to announce that its students performed outstandingly on the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojna examination, a National scholarship entrance exam conducted by II Sc, Bangalore initiative to encourage students to take up careers in the Sciences. Five students from St. Edmund’s School - Arushi Kunthal, Aditya Vishal of XII Class and Akash Dhaker, Ashutosh Sharma and Kartikeya Jain from XI class qualified in the SA & SX aptitude tests. The program will encourage these talented students to pursue careers in research.
School Joint Director Dr Pooja Singh Congratulated the students for their sheer hard work and dedication.

St Edmund’s School, Jawahar Nagar organized a community service programme with a series of cultural and information-disseminating activities for the students of their adopted school RAJKIYA UCH MADHYAMIC SANSKRIT VIDYALAYA, Triveni Nagar, including several kinds of skits, musical performances and public service announcements.

The children performed very well and enjoyed each and every scene. Students were taught about health and hygiene, and sanitary napkins were distributed to the girls of RAJKIYA UCH MADHYAMIC SANSKRIT VIDYALAYA. St. Edmund’s School students taught their adoptive school peers about musical instruments and gave a spectacular performance on the issue “No use of plastic” and “Road safety”. Lessons on manners and etiquette were delivered by Edmundites. In order to make the students more tech-savvy, computer training was also provided.

As St.Edmund’s School is a member of interact club (RCJ), prominent Rotarians Moses Phillamin, Manoj Singh(Secretary) and Mr Sudhir Gupta were also present.
They appreciated the generous attitude of the children and were happy to see Edmundites making all efforts to connect with their peers at the government school.

To cater the learning needs of visually impaired children students of St. Edmund’s School, Jawahar Nagar, made an audiobook of Political Science for Classes IX and X (NCERT based textbook)for visually impaired children which were presented at the festival organized at City Palace on World Disability Day.
Joint director and mentor Dr Pooja Singh, and School Principal Anu Bhatia along with Mrs Pallavi Bhagchandani and Mrs Poonam Singh who guided the students have attended the function with the students of class 9th and 10th (Tanish katta, Shubham Krishnawat, Nidhi Meena, Kanishka Aswal, Dixita Jaiswal and Pari Jain).
During the launch of Audio Books, MLA Diya Kumari praised the participating schools and said that these types of efforts will help the visually impaired children to study.
